Choosing LICK Wipes: Five Questions Buyers Ask
LICK covers three jobs that are often confused: precision dust capture in controlled environments, everyday wiping of spills and grease, and absorbing oil leaks on floors and water. The wrong product for the job costs more per task and can introduce lint or residue where it matters most.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
What are cleanroom wipes, and which LICK grade fits my room class?
Cleanroom wipes are low-lint wipers made for controlled environments classified under ISO 14644-1. The LICK LGK series is organized by application: LGK3 for laboratories and clean manufacturing, LGK5 (scratch-free, super-absorbent) for semiconductor and precision-component areas, and LGK7 (dry/wet, acid-base-solvent resistant) for pharmaceutical, biotech, and medical-device production. Matching grades to ISO classes is covered in our cleanroom wipes classes guide.
Which wipe material is best for my task?
Match the job, not the label. Precision dust capture on instruments and optics calls for the LGK cleanroom wipe series. Everyday spills and grease in kitchens and workshops suit multi-purpose disposable cloths. Heavy oil, grease, and solvent wiping around machinery needs melt-blown power cleaning cloths, which resist acids and alkalis. Floor leaks and spill response are a different job again and call for absorbent pads and booms rather than wipes. See our comparison of multi-purpose vs power cleaning cloths.
Are LICK wipes lint-free?
No wiper is truly lint-free, and we do not claim it. Every wiper sheds at some level, so the honest specification is low-lint, backed by particle-release data. The LGK series and our low-lint dry wipes are specified as low-lint for their intended applications. When qualifying any wiper, ask for test data rather than accepting a lint-free label. Our cleanroom wipes supplier guide explains what to ask for.
What are LICK oil absorbent pads made of, and how much do they hold?
LICK oil absorbent pads, socks, and booms are polypropylene (PP), which repels water and attracts oil, so they work on land and on water. They hold more than 12 times their own weight in oil; actual capacity varies with oil viscosity and temperature. They are single-use: a saturated pad should be replaced, not wrung out, and disposed of as oil-contaminated industrial waste under local regulations. Selection by scenario is in our oil absorbent pads and booms guide; for kitchens, see grease trap oil absorbents.
How do I buy LICK wipes in bulk?
LICK products are made in Taiwan and sold in carton quantities (for example, LGK5 packs 300 pcs per pack, 10 packs per carton). Sampling comes first: tell us your surfaces, chemicals, and monthly usage through the contact form, and we will send samples with carton pricing. International buyers and distributors can inquire with their location and volumes. For oil absorbents, our guide on where to buy oil absorbent pads compares channel options.
