SERVICESNonwoven Product Development

Explore new materials and possibilities.

Founded in 2002, Graminton’s Non-woven Material Research Center connects with global fibre manufacturers and follows advances in production processes. We work with you to explore specialised materials and differentiated nonwoven products.

PROCESSES

Common nonwoven processes

Four processes to consider when comparing nonwoven materials and their applications.

01

Spunlace

High-pressure water jets entangle staple fibres to form a fabric. Often selected for soft, absorbent wipes and skin-contact products.

02

Spunbond

Continuous polymer filaments form a web that is bonded into a fabric. Common uses include protective liners, covers and disposable sheets.

03

Airlaid

Short fibres, often wood pulp, are laid using air and bonded with a binder, heat-activated fibres or both. Used for bulky, absorbent hygiene and wiping materials.

04

Meltblown

Hot air draws molten polymer into fine fibres. Depending on the material and structure, uses include filtration, barriers and oil absorption.
