Graminton Wins the 25th Taichung Golden Hand Award

On the afternoon of October 30, 2026, at the Taichung City Hall auditorium, Graminton received the 25th Taichung Golden Hand Award. CEO Wei Yen accepted the trophy from Taichung Mayor Lu Shiow-yen on behalf of the company, joined on stage by a group of Graminton colleagues in white lab coats.

The moment on stage lasted only a few minutes, but it reflected 34 years of work by many people. The award belongs to everyone at Graminton.

The Taichung Golden Hand Award recognizes small and medium-sized manufacturers in Taichung, Taiwan, and is now in its 25th year. Rather than a single year’s results, it looks at whether a company has operated steadily over the long term, excelled in its core business and contributed to society. This year’s theme was Digital Transformation and AI Innovation, and 20 companies received the award. For Graminton, which has grown up in Taichung, recognition from its home city means a great deal. On the red carpet before the ceremony, Graminton’s cheering team walked alongside the CEO in white lab coats, holding up hand-held signs. At the interview area, everyone called out the company slogan together: “Graminton, a better life!”

Colleagues who usually work apart, in the office, the R&D center and the plants, stood together that day in the same white coats, celebrating the same thing.

At the evening welcome dinner, each new award-winning company introduced itself on stage. Graminton told its story in three words: professionals, biotech and everyday life.

Serving professionals. Graminton was founded in Taichung in 1992. Its first business was industrial wiping, serving paint shops and auto repair shops. It then moved into beauty salons and healthcare facilities, developing professional disposables and protective products. For more than 30 years most of its customers have been professionals, from technicians and beauticians to nurses, and their high standards have kept the company refining its material applications and process know-how.

From nonwovens to beauty biotech. While developing sheet mask fabrics, the team found that a good fabric was not enough: how the essence works with the fabric matters just as much. That led Graminton to set up its biotech R&D center and move into skincare formulation, extending from nonwoven applications into beauty biotech.

Into everyday life. Since 2020, Graminton has stepped into consumer products: G Bear baby care wipes, sheet masks and skincare, household cleaning cloths, face towels, bath towels and medical face masks. Many people may already have used a Graminton product without knowing where it came from.

Looking back, the company has crossed into different fields while doing the same thing throughout: using material innovation to solve needs large and small in daily life. The company’s milestones are on our history page.

Most of what Graminton makes are everyday items that look small but matter: a wiping cloth, a sheet mask, a baby care wipe. Done well, they make each day a little cleaner, a little more comfortable and a little more reassuring.

This year Graminton launched its “AI Year One” program, bringing intelligent systems online across the company. In September it received a bronze rating under the Ministry of Labor’s TTQS (Talent Quality-management System), and in October the 25th Taichung Golden Hand Award. This recognition comes from customers’ trust over the years and from the daily care of every colleague.
